Happy Valentine’s Dayyyy, hope it’s treated you well.
First, a gift for your ears: I co-reported a recent episode of the podcast Brave Little State on how Vermont libraries stay alive and vibrant. It was fun and I’m really happy with the final result. You can listen to it here.
I started playing around with watercolors the other night and cut out some shapes when it was dry, just to do it. One of them looked kind of like a heart, and I was like, oh, that’s nice, let’s do more of that. And now here we are, my Valentines for inanimate objects.
I just bought my first car with seat warmers and I don’t know if I can ever go back.
I love phone calls, I love voice memos, I love talking to the people I love.
It’s nice to always know that the Dr. Bronner’s container never changes.
Limes: an underrated citrus. My friend Rain got me into adding a squeeze of lime to jarred salsa and it’s like, wait, I could have always been doing this??
It has recently come to my attention that my local co-op sells the best gummy candy in bulk (Albanese 12-flavor gummy bears). Trust me when I say that the gummy bears are good enough on their own, yet putting them in cute little jars that used to hold honey and strawberry Bonne Maman? So much more satisfying!!
No shade to four or five-part harmonies but three is the magic number.
Everyone knows armless chairs are thick thighs best friend.
An ode to my friends (and family) and their couches (and beds) where I have laid. my head these past couple of transient years. Most recently, I crashed on my friend Mac’s couch after my contact lens got stuck in my eyeball and I had to go the ER to get it out (I’m fine). The worst part was I missed the Mean Girls musical movie I was seeing and the hospital staff teased me for going to see it in the first place (very rude!!). It was way too late to drive home with one functioning eyeball so on to Mac’s couch I went. The best part was I woke up snuggling to Mac’s pup, Rowie, and kitty, Mouse. Thanks to Mac, and to everyone else who has held me these past couple years. I love you.
That’s about it for me. Take care, my friends, and if today didn’t go as planned, may you find your favorite candy half off tomorrow.
