Hey friends, how’s it going? All good here, happy to say I made it to Maine.
Don’t mind me acting as if the last month didn’t make me lose my mind. Month. Sorry/not sorry, I’m not over how quickly everything came together. I bought a car, secured housing, moved a bunch of stuff into storage, packed up the rest, and left. I kept waiting for something to go wrong along the way and it went pretty smooth. Am I jinxing myself for the future??? Here’s hoping not??
Okay, you’re right, it wasn’t all smooth. Organizing and executive functioning in this way are not my strong suits. Like, I can make a list and I did make lists and I still make lists but when you have so many lists, it’s all just bullet points after a while. Basically, apologies to my family for dealing with what I left behind (a bunch of books, boxes of stuff I didn’t get into the storage unit, and god knows how many odds & ends).
I’ll be honest, the last month has also been great distraction from the dumpster fire known as the world at large and social media in general, especially the bogus outrages that rock Twitter. Putting down your phone: I recommend it. The bad news will still be there. Sorry/not sorry to be a bummer, but am I wrong? I’m not.
Anyway, just wanted to let y’all know I made it! I’m really excited to really dig into the work next week after Labor Day. Still adjusting, still chugging along, still using Google Maps to drive five minutes away because I don’t have a sense of place yet. Major thanks to Rachel for all her insight on Maine and the best places to eat in Portland. The beaches are great and I hope to see a puffin before I’m done in December.
Take care, I love you, be good yourselves,
Andrea
Thanks for reading, pals. Please forgive any spelling or grammar errors because I’ve already forgiven myself. Links to my social and website can be found below. If you’d like to buy me a cup of coffee here or here, I will happily drink it with oat milk and give cheers in your name. xoxo
